Winnies Promo

Okay, here's the deal with my promo for the 2007 Winnies...

First off, much thanks to Lan Bui of Noodle Scar for some much needed advice on video compression.

You can watch the promo here or at the Winnies website. I've had problems embedding it in this blog, so I'm not going to futz with it further.

Now the story behind the promo: ages and ages ago I found myself in the odd position of directing a couple of fetish videos with porn actress Mika Tan. My business partners and I - who had only nominal experience in video production and none at all in the adult entertainment industry - spent an entire day shooting Mika at a house way out in Azusa.

Upon wrapping production, we were all very pleased with ourselves.

It was only when I sat down to edit that I noticed Mika's impassioned moaning and hollering was all but drowned out by the most annoying air conditioner hum in human history.

So the producer I was working with hustled a camcorder out to Mika's place and left it up to her to do some quick and dirty ADR.

The resulting footage was very amusing. Mika hanging out in her bedroom, getting bored, playing with her cat... all the while unleashing a torrent of orgasmic grunts, groans and whimpers absent of any real sexual context.

It certainly sucks the wind out of any delusions one might have about how much the stars of their favorite spank films are actually enjoyng themselves...
